A BRIEF EXPLANATION OF PASSOVER AND PASSION
The dynamic of this specific week is this: all three (3) days were Sabbaths (High Holy Days) as; The Passover Feast, The Feast of Unleavened Bread along with the weekly Sabbath.
NISAN is the first month of the Jewish Religious Year always in the Spring.
The annual PASSOVER FEAST
On Nisan 14th is a commemoration of the night the death angel flew over the homes which (as directed by Moses) had the blood of a lamb on the side posts and lintel during the last night Israel was in Egypt (captivity). On Nisan 10th, the Jewish father chooses a spotless lamb to be sacrificed on Preperation Day the 13th…then consumed (eaten) on the 14th Passover Day.
The PASSION OF THE CHRIST
On Nisan 10th (Palm Sunday), Jesus presented himself to Israel as the Spotless Lamb of God. He was rejected and Rome crucified him to a cross on Nisan 13th Preparation Day. He then was placed and sealed in a tomb for three (3) days and three (3) nights: Thursday Nisan 14th, Friday Nisan 15th and Saturday Nisan 16th to fulfill the prophecy of the sign of Jonah (Matthew 12:40).
You will immediately see there is no GOOD FRIDAY
as there is no room for Christ to fulfill the sign of Jonah.
And the Supreme Beauty of this week is that Jesus
is in the tomb two High Holy Sabbaths and one weekly Sabbath.
Conclusion: Jesus Christ beautifully and completely fulfilled the Passover
Feast as set forth in Exodus Chapter 12 and Leviticus Chapter 23 as the Supreme and Ultimate Sacrifice for ALL mankind. His Passion is his unmerited and endless love for ALL that he created.
And after all is said and done…and you are in your final beat of life…what did you do with JESUS ?
Why not accept his invitation and spend eternity with GOD.
OH what a glorious future we have !!!
